Environmentally friendly and professional service

Inspection

Pre Wash Rug Inspection

Rugs come into our business in all shapes, sizes, colours and materials and therefore it is extremely important to consider which cleaning method is the right one for that specific rug. Colourfastness dye tests are implemented and if necessary the rug is prepared by setting the dyes, and each rug is inspected for any pre-existing conditions.

Dusting

Rug Dusting Process

The fibres of certain rugs can be a great place for holding an extreme amount of dirt, dust and other foreign materials and with all this dirt, if the rug is not dusted first before treatment, it could turn into a muddy mess. So we therefore need to dust the rug using our harmonic vibrating system machine which can actually reduce the weight of the rug by half. This can help extend the life of the rug too.

De-contamination

De-contamination Bath

Bad smelling odours, such as pet urine, mould and mildew, or insect infestations need to be removed and this is where the de-contamination bath comes into play. Rugs with latex backings may have all their odours eradicated when cleaning.

Wash

Shampoo and Wash

Just like any other cleaning process, a good shampoo and wash is essential and the rug cleaning process is no different. Cold water shampoo bath will be implemented and soft brushes will remove any surface soil that has accumulated. The length of time your rug is submerged will depend on how much soil needs to be rinsed from your rug`s fibres.

Rinse

Residue rinse

Dirt will be then be removed from your rug using our rinsing process. We utilise water at a gentle flow rate to remove any residue on your rug from the cleaning process.

Protection

Rug protector (optional)

An optional protector for the rug can be applied to make sure a barrier is in place for the rug to help prevent further soiling and staining and in turn will make future spillages on the rug are easy to clean up and remove and there will be a less likely need for another professional clean.

Dry

Rug Drying

When drying a rug you need to be careful not to shrink the item and our specialist professional rug cleaners will make sure this doesn`t happen by using air driers at a monitored low temperature. Please be aware that the first time a rug is cleaned it is common for it to shrink slightly (by less than an inch), however this is common with all cotton and wool materials, not just rugs.

Finish

Fringe work and finishing

After the bathing process rug fringes are washed an additional time, and then dried using the techniques above. The rug is then finished by grooming it with a brush.
